President’s Message
Welcome to our club web site! We hope to spread the message that Club 6606 “Leadership and Service” is in existence for the educational needs of Division A. In addition to providing opportunities for our members to practice their leadership skills, we provide brush-ups and additional training on the basic speaking skills taught in the Competent Communication manual. Since we have begun training sessions which focus on teaching the basics, our attendance has included not only beginning Toastmasters, but also many experienced Toastmasters who are updating their own skills.
I believe that if we do not improve our own presentation skills we become complacent, and find it easy to revert to old habits. By teaching and/or reinforcing the basics to our guest Toastmasters we are able to improve our own skills. The club also carries on the tradition of providing Division A club officer make up training and contest training, both services twice a year.
As with most other advanced Toastmaster clubs we are open to new members who are interested in teaching/training others and who have achieved at least the Competent Communicator or CTM level.
For further information about our c lub or programs, please contact me at Dolores.weck@verizon.net, or Vice President Public Relations, Steve Baer, at snbaer@msn.com. Click the web page side bar Workshops for 2008-2009 for a listing of our meeting dates and topics.
As always, we are here to serve the Division A members as we “learn best in times of enjoyment!”
